Revenue Integrity Analyst
Job Summary
The Revenue Integrity analyst primary function is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of charges and supporting documentation for charge capture in accordance with policies and timeframes. This will include maintaining the charge master, capturing charges for observation, and charge auditing.
Job Responsibilities


* Updates/adds items to the charge master to ensure appropriate charge capture after appropriate approvals and reporting through Craneware
* Advises charge department leaders and their staff on proper usage of charge codes
* Works with charge departments when new services or procedures are in development to ensure accurate and complete charge capture
* Identifies opportunities for capturing additional revenue in accordance with payer guidelines
* Works closely with Patient Accounting on billing edits/requirements that are payer specific
* Interacts with all revenue departments to ensure that charges interface appropriately to the billing system. Works error reports to identify issues with charge interfaces.
* Identifies all observation patients, reviews medical record to ensures the documentation supports the status of observation and enters charges appropriately and timely
* Ensures we are compliant with SOX regulations regarding charge master updates, charge capture, and charge audits
* Educates and trains revenue departments on SOX requirements specific to the charge department
* Coordinates and provides documentation for all external billing audits
* Makes recommendations to case management, physicians and nursing staff on documentation improvements
* Coordinates and supports staff educator to improve deficiencies in documentation to include providing education materials, memos, written and verbal communication
* Works closely with coding staff/HIM to ensure procedures performed are being accurately reported
* Identifies any additional revenue opportunities
* Keep abreast of new rules and regulations relating to billing to ensure compliance throughout the hospital via Bulletins, Program Memos, transmittals, etc from Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care providers, etc.
* Assists with charge capture audits
* Serves as a backup for reporting for the Decision Support Analyst
* All other duties as assigned



Minimum Qualifications


* Bachelor's degree preferred
* Minimum of 2-3 years revenue integrity/charge capture/claims experience
* Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding required
