**Description:**


In support of the strategic quality direction of the Forging Center of Excellence, lead quality integration into a geographically dispersed module center including 5 PW owned organization, 4 of which have their own AS9100 certification and are technically suppliers. This position is a high-tempo operations environment that will require flexibility, solid project management skills, excellent communication, and teamwork. This integration involves the establishment and evolution of a supplier quality management system and hybrid quality plans into various locations; while simultaneously supporting the GM / QM / CIPT / ME's efforts to mature manufacturing process maturity. Further, this quality leader will have the ability to flex communication styles to present major projects, escape issues, and policy deployment mandate efforts to senior level executive leadership; while developing empowering relationships with middle managers and individual contributors. In parallel with developing one's quality body of knowledge, this leader will take on the discipline health / proficiency level of the quality organization that transfers knowledge and builds team confidence to execute in a complex quality management system. In development of knowledge management, a primary focus is the driving a pro-active quality engineering mindset beyond a norm of issue resolution.


**Job responsibilities:** As a transformational leader, this quality manager provides strategic leadership and tactical management direction to the Quality organization while driving behavior that exhibits the highest business integrity. Ensuring compliance to company, customer, regulatory, and other procedures and requirements, the Quality Manager will foster a quality culture throughout all functions of value stream quality organization in a positive and teaming manner. Through leadership and effective communication, this individual will drive both the strategic and tactical execution of the Quality System. This is a key leadership role that requires integration and teaming with facility General Managers and associated leadership teams. Included aspects of this leadership role are:


Quality - Drives the elimination of escapes and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ). Establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and safety. Organizes and promotes company-wide quality improvement efforts. Implements and maintains the company Quality system in accordance with current quality standards, reporting on the performance of quality system for review and as a foundation for improvement. Supports the development, implementation and continuous improvement of repair station procedures. Partners with external parties including regulatory agencies on matters relating to the quality system. While responsible for execution, the Quality Manager leads teams executing all aspects of a robust Quality Assurance program, including inspection, records, site audits, FAA (and other international airworthiness) compliance, and customer requirements.


Continuous Improvement - Uses robust ACE and other industry recognized tools to drive business efficiencies and improvements. Leads investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action solutions as needed. Utilizes turn-back data to drive the identification of critical systemic issues. Supports a monthly corrective action board (CAB) meeting.


Safety - Drives safety as a number one priority. Chairs or participates in at least one major site committee for Environmental, Health & Safety.


Financial - Supports the facility GM business cost reduction and productivity initiatives. Meets or exceed all financial requirements and operational goals for the unit.


Employee Engagement - Focus on communication, training, teaming management practices, and employee respect to foster a diverse culture of engaged and committed employees.


**Qualification:** 5+ years in a manufacturing environment

Broad functional experience (quality, operations, materials, etc.) strongly preferred

Strong ACE background preferred

Proven manufacturing leadership

Adaptability


**Education:**


BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field, MA/MS degree preferred.
